Ibrahima Bamba is Post-Doc for Rice Policy at the Africa Rice Center and a member of Working Group 2 (partnerships). What does he think about the level of stakeholder engagement in the change process so far?
Just about everyone agrees that partnerships have to be a key part of the CG’s future. An important aspect of this is to develop a greater degree of stakeholder engagement – particularly to include more engagement from actors in developing countries – in fact-finding, strategic planning and implementation.
We can do this through established mechanisms like GFAR and FARA, which could play a much greater role in stakeholder consultation than they have done so far.
