Stakeholder reactions: Margret Thalwitz

Margret Thalwitz, Director of Global Programs and Partnerships at the World Bank, gives some views on the change initiative:

I am impressed by the consultative and quite inclusive process and by the dedication of the Working Groups. There are some very good elements here for managing the process effectively. Events have followed a logical progression, from the meetings in Arlington on ‘why change’, through the sessions in Addis Ababa on the vision, and now, here in Los Baños, the extensive consultation on governance. The fact that decisions have been made shows the process has been managed efficiently.

I feel there is a lot of buy-in to the idea of change and I see a true willingness to discuss options openly and transparently. There is also a good spirit to make the whole thing work.

On a final note, I am happy to have the chance to visit IRRI and observe the wonderful work the Center is doing.
