The sun is shining on the Joaquim Chissano International Conference Center in Maputo, Mozambique as participants arrive from all over the world for this year’s Annual General Meeting of the CGIAR.
The Change Management Initiative has been working throughout 2008 to prepare a new vision for the CGIAR, adopting a participatory process by engaging stakeholders in working groups and broader consultations. An independent review panel also contributed to the process. The Change Steering Team has pulled all this work together in a proposal for reform, which was endorsed by the Executive Council in October.
On Tuesday (Dec 2), The Alliance of the CG Centers and the Global Forum for Agricultural Research (GFAR) will organize roundtable and world café discussions on CGIAR renewal, with final decisions being taken during the subsequent CGIAR business meeting.
Jonathan Wadsworth, Co-Chair of the Change Steering Team looks ahead to these events:
Watch this space for regular updates on discussions arising from the various sessions, together with brief interviews and sound bites from the participants.
